San Marcos, Texas — Construction is underway on Cheatham Street Flats, a $15.5 million student housing development set to offer 234 beds near Texas State University in San Marcos. The 192,000-square-foot property is being developed by Cheatham Street Flats LLC and will offer 175 fully furnished units upon completion. Shared amenities will include bike storage, a private courtyard, a lower-level coffeeshop/restaurant and roommate matching services. The project team includes owner representative and landscape architect Land Design Studio; lead architect Forge Craft Architecture + Design; civil engineer Doucet & Associates; and modular construction partner Z Modular. A timeline for the development was not announced.
