Austin, Texas — It will be standing-room only next week at InterFace Student Housing. The event, held at the Hyatt Regency Austin April 3-5, passed the 600 attendee mark earlier this week, building more excitement and anticipation for the event. Kicking off Tuesday with a pre-conference golf tournament at Barton Creek, the event will officially launch at 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon with a cocktail party in the exhibit hall (more than 40 industry companies will line the hall).

Wednesday morning, the conference starts its educational sessions with a fact or fiction Q&A session moderated by Colliers International's Dorothy Jackman and featuring ACC's Bill Bayless and EdR's Randy Churchey. That session will be quickly followed up by The State of the Student Housing Industry panel, moderated by SHB Editor Randall Shearin and featuring Rob Bronstein, president of The Scion Group; Peter Katz, senior vice president - investments, Institutional Property Advisors; Donna Preiss, founder & CEO, The Preiss Company; Ted Rollins, co-founder, co-chairman of the board and CEO, Campus Crest Communities; and Brian Thompson, senior vice president, Harrison Street Real Estate Capital. Other panels and plenty of networking will follow.

Wednesday night will feature the second annual Student Housing Business Innovator Awards Gala and Dinner, sponsored by Airwave Networks, Colliers International and Shreveland Constructors. The conference continues on Thursday.

SHB will be reporting from InterFace Student Housing with a special newsletter each day (Wednesday and Thursday, April 4-5). Follow @shbusiness on Twitter for updates; follow the conversation from all attendees by monitoring the hashtag #shb12 on Twitter.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
