Young Harris, Ga. — Young Harris College in Young Harris has completed development of the 200-bed Enotah Hall residence community. Designed by Lord, Aeck & Sargent, the property will house the increasing number of students enrolling in the college, which is transforming from a 2-year school to a 4-year university. Young Harris welcomed nearly 700 students for the current school year, 11 percent more than the enrollment numbers for the 2007-2008 school year. The 62,500-square-foot complex was built to achieve LEED standards and to blend in with the surrounding architecture, which, according to school officials, is a “contemporary Craftsman mountain vernacular.” The three-floor building encompasses four music practice rooms, study spaces with computers, laundry facilities and meeting rooms. Each residential suite can house four students in a two-bedroom/two-bathroom layout.
