Ambling Awarded 2,000-Bed Project at UL-Lafayette

Two new communities will be built and four others will be renovated.

 

 

A rendering of the new on-campus housing Ambling is developing at the University of Louisiana – Lafayette.

Lafayette, La. — Ambling University Development Group has announced its partnership with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the development of 2,000 new beds of student housing. The company will demolish five existing structures to make way for two new housing communities and a 1,000-space parking deck with street-level commercial space. Additional work that will be completed as part of the multi-phase project will include the renovation of four existing residence halls and the creation of a campus master plan.

Phase I of the project will be completed next fall, with final completion expected in fall 2012. Architects Southwest is serving as master planner, Niles Bolton Associates is the project architect, and a joint venture between The Lemoine Company and Juneau Construction Co. will provide general contracting services. RBC Capital Markets is providing construction financing.

Ambling is capping off a busy year for itself. The company recently completed a project at North Georgia College & State University that added two new on-campus residence halls containing a total of 956 beds. Ambling is also developing a 38,000-square-foot dining hall that is scheduled for completion next August.
