Salt Lake City — A public-private partnership between American Campus Communities (ACC) and the University of Utah is set to break ground on a $155 million residence hall project on the university’s campus in Salt Lake City. The six-story community will offer 1,400 beds for first- and second-year students. The first floor of the development will feature indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, new dining facilities and fitness areas. The project is part of ACC’s American Campus Equity program, which enables universities to expand and enhance student housing without taking on additional debt. ACC will manage and own a leasehold interest in the property under a 55-year lease agreement that includes two 10-year extensions for a final term of 75 years. The development team for the project, which is expected for completion in fall 2026, includes MHTN Architects, Ayers Saint Gross and Okland Construction.
