Austin, Texas — Jennifer Beese and Jim Hopke have been with ACC for over a decade each. Both will report to COO Greg Dowell.
Austin, Texas — American Campus Communities has promoted Jennifer Beese to executive vice president of operations and leasing and has moved Jim Hopke from his role as executive vice president of project management and construction to the newly created position of executive vice president of asset management. In their new roles, both will report directly to Greg Dowell, the company’s chief operating officer.
Over her 14 year career with American Campus, Beese has spearheaded the development of many of the company’s proprietary systems including LAMS, the Web-based Leasing Administration and Marketing Systems program.
Hopke joined the company in 2000 as the senior vice president of acquisitions and was
instrumental in the company’s pre-IPO growth, ACC says. He briefly left the company from 2003-2005 serving as vice president of asset management for Wachovia’s real estate capital markets group. He rejoined the company in 2005 as executive vice president and chief investment officer. From 2008 to present, he served as the executive vice president of project management and construction overseeing the delivery of more than 45 assets representing more than $2.7 billion in asset value. Prior to joining American Campus in 2000, Hopke served as the vice president of asset management for JPI’s student housing division from 1998 – 2000 and as the vice president of asset management at Insignia from 1994 to 1998.
