Providence, R.I., and Ames, Iowa — Both under-construction properties will be complete in 2015.
Providence, R.I., and Ames, Iowa — Asset Campus Housing has been selected to manage two student housing communities that Gilbane Development Company is currently developing in Providence, R.I., and Ames, Iowa, both of which will be ready for students in 2015. The first property is the 267-bed 257 Thayer, near Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence. It is being developed to achieve LEED Silver Certification. Residents will be able to choose from one-, two- or three-bedroom options. The second property, 23 Twenty Lincoln, is bringing 320 beds to Iowa State University’s Campustown neighborhood, a high-density area south of ISU’s campus. Amenities will include a controlled entryway, tanning room, fitness center, hi-definition TV lounge and a clubhouse that opens onto a hammock garden, fire pit and outdoor barbecue kitchen. According to Gilbane, 23 Twenty is the first student housing developing in Campustown to be built since 2004 and 257 Thayer in Providence is the first purpose-built student housing in Providence.
