BOCA RATON, Fla. — Balfour Beatty will begin construction on its 11th project with the university this summer.
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Florida Atlantic University selected Balfour Beatty Construction to build the school’s new freshman student housing project on the main campus in Boca Raton.
The $31 million project will provide an additional 600 beds plus a new dining facility. Balfour Beatty teamed up with Cummings Construction for this fast-track project. The joint venture has completed six projects together, including a 30,000 seat football stadium that opened in October 2011, coupled with a four-lane divided roadway, which completed the university’s master plan to provide a third connection to and from the campus.
The design team for the new freshman facility is led by PGAL Architects in association with SchenkelShultz. Construction begins this June and will wrap in summer 2013.
