Austin, Texas — A public-private partnership between Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions and the University of Texas at Austin is set to begin construction on a $145 million residence hall project. The community is the first new residence hall to be constructed on campus in nearly 20 years. The property will offer 1,070 beds and will replace existing structures that offered 200 beds across six buildings. Demolition and site work for the development began in June 2024 with completion scheduled for fall 2027. The community will offer single- and double-occupancy units with community bathrooms. The property will also be home to an area housing office and amenities including lounges, study spaces and a university-managed conference center. The project team includes general contractor Andres and architects Clark Nexsen and Levy Dykema.
