Denver — New solar panels expected to cut electric use in half at select Grove properties.
Denver — Campus Crest Communities has partnered with SolarCity, a clean-energy products company, to install approximately 9,000 solar panels on its student housing communities in Greeley, Colo., Flagstaff, Ariz., and Las Cruces, N.M. The panels will provide 2.3 million kilowatt hours of renewable power per year, offset electricity consumption by about 50 percent and eliminate 80 million pounds of annual carbon dioxide emissions. “Sustainable living is central to our company philosophy and business practices, and we are pleased to find that our residents are equally as passionate about the concept,” says Campus Crest co-founder and CEO Ted W. Rollins.
