Tailwind Group Acquires Two Student Housing Communities in Iowa, Nebraska

Lincoln, Neb. and Ames, Iowa — Tailwind Group has acquired two student housing communities in Nebraska and Iowa. Acquisitions include South Duff Apartments, a 490-bed garden-style community located near Iowa State University in Ames; and The View, a 590-bed garden-style property serving students attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Randall Calvert of TSB Realty brokered the acquisition of both properties from RCLCO. Riyad Capital, The Ascott Limited Form Joint Venture to Develop U.S. Student Housing

Lincoln, Neb. — Riyad Capital, an institutional capital partner based in the Middle East, has formed a joint venture with CapitaLand Investment Limited’s wholly-owned lodging business unit, The Ascott Limited, to develop student housing properties in the U.S. The partnership has committed $150 million in its initial equity round. Named Student Accommodation Development Venture (SAVE), Ascott will manage the venture and hold a 20 percent stake, while the remaining stake will be held by Riyad.  The partnership has acquired its first investment, a 779-bed student housing community currently under construction …

Joint Venture to Develop 575-Bed Student Housing Project in Lincoln, Nebraska

Lincoln, Neb. — A joint venture between Campion Devco LLC and Tailwind Group is developing LivRed, a 575-bed student housing project near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln. The seven-story building will offer furnished one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units. Community amenities will include a fitness center, package room, parking garage, private study rooms, gaming areas and lounges. The project team includes Sampson Construction, Grace Hebert Curtis Architects, ETI and REGA Engineering.
