The three-story, garden-style community offers studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units. Shared amenities include a recently renovated clubhouse, lounge area, yoga room, cyber cafe, study center, fitness center, pet park, hammock garden and swimming pool. Memphis, Tenn. — NB Private Capital has acquired The Nine at Memphis, a 385-bed student housing community located near the University of Memphis in Tennessee, for $32 million. The acquisition was structured as a DST offering for 1031 exchange investments. The seller was undisclosed. The community offers two-, three- and four-bedroom units with bed-to-bath parity. NB Private Capital purchased the property from 908 Group and Scannell Properties for an undisclosed price. Knoxville, Tenn. — Calliber Living has been awarded management of Flagship Kern’s, a mixed-use development currently underway near the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Mallory & Evans is developing the property, plans for which include a 160-unit residential component targeting young professionals, graduate and medical students and upperclassmen. The property will include retail, restaurants and office space, and is set for completion in August 2020.

Knoxville, Tenn.— Mallory & Evans Partners has acquired the Kern’s Bakery site, an opportunity zone near downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee. The Atlanta-based developers plan to transform the area as a mixed-use development that will preserve the historic building to include retail, restaurant, entertainment and office space.
