Sarasota, Fla. — Construction is underway on a $42 million residence hall and student center on the University of South Florida-Manatee (USF) campus in Sarasota. The bottom two floors of the 100,000-square-foot development will feature a ballroom, dining facilities, bookstore, lounges, meeting spaces and offices.
The four floors above this space will offer up to 200 beds of student housing in various unit configurations. This will be the first residence hall on the university’s campus, construction of which is expected for completion in fall 2024.
“This project represents a significant milestone in the University of South Florida’s history and signals our commitment to the expansion of the Sarasota-Manatee campus,” says USF President, Rhea Law.
“We’ve made it a priority to increase student housing at USF because we know that living on campus can raise academic performance, support student retention and create a stronger sense of community. This new facility will transform the student experience by providing more opportunities to get involved, connect with peers and build long-lasting relationships.”
