Core Spaces Announces Executive Leadership Promotions, Hires

Chicago — Core Spaces has announced several changes to the Chicago-based firm’s executive leadership team. Sean Devine has been hired to the role of executive vice president of property operations and experience. Devine will lead the company’s operational teams across its student housing and build-to-rent arms. He previously oversaw 70,000 beds as vice president of student housing operations at Cardinal Group. 

Jennifer Holmes has transitioned to the role of chief operating officer. She most recently served as the firm’s chief financial officer. In her new role, Holmes will oversee multiple departments including operations, accounting and finance, people operations and technology.

Merritt Poole has been promoted to chief financial officer. In her new role, Poole will lead financial planning and analysis, accounting, tax, accounts payable and treasury functions. Christine Bentley has been named chief information officer. She will oversee the firm’s IT strategy, systems and data management, and support day-to-day operations and long-term growth. Bentley most recently served as senior vice president of shared services at Bonaventure.

Katy Darnaby has been promoted to chief marketing officer. In her new position, Darnaby will lead the firm’s brand marketing and communications efforts. And Jourdan Vartabedian has joined Core Spaces as vice president of leasing and sales. Vartabedian will oversee strategic sales initiatives and lead leasing teams.
