Washington, D.C. — A public-private partnership between Corvias and Howard University is set to begin renovations on Howard Center, a former hotel and restaurant venue most recently home to the university’s administrative offices.
Corvias will work with Gilbane Building Company to begin renovations on the 90,157-square-foot building. Floors one and two of the property will be home to a Starbucks Coffee and the Howard University Bookstore; floors three through four will offer amenities for residents; and floors five through nine will offer 183 beds of housing for professional and graduate students and upperclassmen. The residential floors will offer a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units with bed-to-bath parity. The project is expected for completion in August 2019. Corvias will serve as property manager upon completion.
