Memphis, Tenn. — EdR and CampusMD have partnered to bring 24-7 web-enabled live conferencing with board-certified physicians to all its residents. CampusMD, a Bethesda, Md.-based firm that focuses on the intersections of technology, higher education and health care, will shortly begin rolling out this service to all residents at EdR’s properties, which total approximately 40,000. It will allow residents who pay a subscription fee to interface with doctors via most devices equipped with a Web camera. The physicians are able to diagnose and treat a range of non-emergency illnesses and conditions, according to CampusMD.

“When a student is sick and living away from home, finding a doctor can be confusing and inconvenient,” says Scott Casey, EdR’s senior vice president of strategic business development and chief technology officer. “Now any of the more than 40,000 residents of our collegiate communities can subscribe to CampusMD’s services and be just a click away from a video consultation with a physician.”
