Ames, Iowa — Gilbane is at work constructing 23 Twenty Lincoln, a student apartment community located across the street from the front gate of Iowa State University’s campus in Ames. The 320-bed community will be complete for the 2015 academic year. According to Gilbane, this is the first new, amenitized student housing development in ISU’s Campustown neighborhood since 2004.
The project will also include approximately 5,000 square feet of retail. Gilbane has had preliminary discussions with local tenants, according to the company.
Community amenities will include a controlled entryway, lobby computer center and coffee bar, high-definition TV lounge, fitness center with cardio and weights, tanning room, study lounges, and a third-floor clubhouse that opens onto a private landscaped courtyard featuring a hammock garden, fire pit and an outdoor barbecue kitchen. The property will provide free Wi-Fi and Internet, bike storage and off-street parking. Each residential unit will be furnished with in-unit side-by-side washers and dryers, granite counter tops in the kitchens, large walk-in closets.
