Fort Wayne, Ind. — A public-private partnership between Gilbane Development Co. and Purdue University is set to break ground on a $100 million residence hall project on the university’s campus in Fort Wayne. The community will span 213,000 square feet, offering 600 beds across 176 units near Ginsberg Hall on the university’s North Campus. Units will be offered in studio through four-bedroom configurations. Just under half of the beds will be reserved for students contracting with the university for housing. The remaining beds will be available to the general public, including other students who choose to lease from the complex directly. The four-story development will offer shared amenities including a convenience store, fitness center, gaming room, study spaces, lounges, a recreation area, hammock farm, green spaces, sand volleyball and basketball courts, grilling areas and fire pits. The university is holding a groundbreaking for the project on October 29 and plans to complete the development by fall 2026. The project team includes Gilbane Building Co. as construction manager, AVB as design-builder and Progressive AE as architect.
