Charleston, S.C. — Greystar has acquired a seven-property portfolio of purpose-built student housing communities located in Australia for $1 billion. The acquisition includes UniLodge Park Central in Brisbane; Y Suites City Gardens and Y Suites on Waymouth in Adelaide; Y Suites on A’Beckett in Melbourne; Y Suites on Gibbons and Y Suites on Regent in Sydney; and Y Suites on Moore in Canberra. Greystar plans to upgrade the facilities, re-brand the communities and integrate its operational platforms across the portfolio. “This acquisition is a pivotal step in Greystar’s Australian journey,” says Wes Fuller, chief investment officer with the Charleston, South Carolina-based firm. “We are committed to delivering exceptional housing solutions that meet the needs of students while enhancing the quality and functionality of these properties.”
