Jackson CC Student Housing Receives LEED-Gold

by Katie Sloan

The 100-bed student housing facility was constructed in 2009.

Jackson, Mich. — Phase II of Jackson Community College’s Campus View Housing has received LEED-Gold certification. The four-story, 100-bed project features a reflective roof, abundant outside views and high-efficiency windows, low-flow plumbing fixtures, native landscaping and a construction waste diversion program. The project, which was completed last June, is the first building in Jackson to be LEED certified and the first student housing facility in Michigan to receive LEED-Gold certification. SHW Group was the project architect, and R.W. Mercer was the construction manager.
