Montclair State Housing Project Commences

Montclair, N.J. — Construction has commenced for a new student housing community on the campus of Montclair State University.

Construction has commenced for a new student housing community on the campus of Montclair State University in Montclair. The project, which is being developed as a public-private partnership between the university and Birmingham, Ala.-based Capstone Development Corp., will contain 1,978 beds in a mix of private and shared bedrooms as well as a 24,000-square-foot dining hall. The project will be constructed as two separate communities, which are currently being called Hillside and Rec Center. The community will primarily target freshmen and sophomores. Upon completion, Capstone On-Campus Management will manage day-to-day operations of the community, and the university will provide student life and residential programming. Baltimore-based Design Collective and Warren, N.J.-based Paulus Sokolowski & Sartor are serving as project architects. Woodridge, N.J.-Based Terminal Construction Corp. is serving as general contractor.
