Texas Student Housing Authority Files for Chapter 9 Bankruptcy Protection

Southlake, Texas — The Texas Student Housing Authority has filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection with the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, according to reports by Bloomberg. The not-for-profit, state-chartered corporation listed assets between $1 million to $10 million and as many as 199 creditors, according to the report. The Southlake, Texas-based organization was launched in 1995 with the mission of providing university housing scholarships to graduates of Texas high schools and community colleges.
