Thompson Thrift Construction to be General Contractor for Arkansas Student Housing Project

Fayetteville, Ark. — Capstone Development Partners and Specialized Real Estate are developing the 471-bed West Center.

Fayetteville, Ark. — Thompson Thrift Construction has been selected as the general contractor for the West Center, a $25-million student housing project adjacent to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. This purpose-built, off-campus student community will feature 471 beds in 150 units and utilize a modern, green design. It also will include a pool and clubhouse along with a rooftop sun terrace and an embedded six-story 408-space parking garage. An urban infill project, West Center is designed to contribute to neighborhood walkability. Construction will begin this spring and is to be completed in time for the opening of the university’s 2014 fall semester. Capstone Development Partners of Birmingham, Ala., and Specialized Real Estate of Springdale, Ark., are the developers. The architect is Modus Studio Architecture & Prototyping of Springdale, Ark.
