Winnipeg, Canada — Groundbreaking has occurred for the first phase of Project Domino, a $150 million plan to modernize student housing at the University of Manitoba. The first project (pictured left) will consist of a new 360-bed residence hall built on the south side of campus. Additional buildings will be renovated as part of Project Domino and additional new housing will be constructed. The Manitoba provincial government has pledged $47 million to fund the long-term plan, and Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Co. will donate $400,000.
