ATHENS, GA. — While the University of Georgia works to complete the 555-bed Building 1516, the school’s first LEED-certified residence hall, students can get a sneak peek of what life will be like in the new dorm. A prototype of a typical room is on display through January 29 in Brumby Hall on the University of Georgia campus in Athens. The new development will feature in-room climate controls, water-saving fixtures and low-emission paints. The development will be comprised of double and single rooms, and each unit will have a private bathroom. Building 1516 will open in time for the 2010-2011
school year.
