The public-private partnership between the school and local developer Redstone Commercial will add 403 beds of loft-style housing to campus.
Burlington, Vt. — Construction has commenced for a new on-campus student housing community at the University of Vermont (UVM) in Burlington. Redstone Lofts will provide 403 beds of housing in 144 loft-style units. The units will be a mix of studio through four-bedroom apartments. The residence hall will be open to upperclassmen and graduate students.
Local developer Redstone Commercial Group will develop and own the community. It will operate Redstone Lofts under a long-term ground lease with the University. According to local reports, the project cost is $20 million.
Completion is expected in fall 2012.
