Vestcor to Develop Phase Two of Florida Polytechnic University’s Student Housing

Lakeland, Fla. — The university has an expected incoming class for fall 2015 of 600 students.

Vestcor Communities has been awarded the contract to build the second phase of on-campus housing at Florida Polytechnic University. Vestcor completed the first residence hall, which has 241 beds, in August 2014. The 132,000-square-foot steel building will provide housing for 543 students, primarily in two-bedroom/one-bath units. Each unit will have stackable washer and dryers. Amenities will include study lounges, student lounges with multiple TV’s for gaming, game room with hospitality bar, pool tables and ping-pong tables, common area kitchens and study rooms. Construction is scheduled to begin in April and is expected to be completed in July of 2016.
