Winter to Complete $6.1 Million Renovation at Spelman

Atlanta, Ga. — Atlanta-based Winter Construction has been selected to complete the $6.1 million renovation of Laura Spelman Residence Hall on the campus of Spelman College in Atlanta. The project will include upgraded mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the three-story, 20,000-square-foot building, which was constructed in 1917. Additional work will include rebuilding the interior structural framing and installing new finishes.

Winter has a history of completing project’s for the college including the restoration and renovation of Rockefeller and Packard Halls — the two oldest buildings on campus. Joining Winter on the Spelman Hall project will be Menefee & Winer Architects and Carter & Associates.

Construction will begin in July and be completed by August 2012.
