Lake Forest, Ill. — The new Moore Hall replaces a structure built in 1893.

Lake Forest, Ill. — Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions has completed the $16 million redevelopment of Moore Hall at Lake Forest College. The 62,000-square foot building was designed by architect Solomon Cordwell Buenz. Walsh Construction was the construction and demolition partner. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Oct. 4. The project included the demolition of the college’s existing Moore Hall student dorm, which was built in 1893.

The Scion Group provided consulting services to Lake Forest College in 2010, which led campus leadership to seek approval from the Lake Forest City Council to demolish Moore Hall and replace it with a new building.

The new LEED-certified, four-story, on-campus housing took about one year to construct and contains 233 beds.
