Chicago — Mary Cook Associates has hired Kim Brownfield as director of procurement. In her new role, Brownfield will lead the Chicago-based firm’s procurement department with a focus on processes and operations for all aspects of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) sourcing.
This will include collaboration with the company’s design team while securing vendor quotes and overseeing budgeting and scheduling; managing installations; handling client communications; and resolving issues related to damaged goods, replacements and care and maintenance. Brownfield joins MCA from IIG Design, an Indiana-based interior design firm with a focus on hospitality, restaurant, multifamily and commercial projects. “Like many other industries, the design business is directly impacted by the supply chain issues we’re all continuing to experience,” says President and Founder Mary Cook.
“In this climate, we saw an opportunity to create a new role dedicated to the logistical considerations of getting FFE to our project sites on time and on budget. With her proven skills stemming from her impressive tenure in the procurement world, Kim will be instrumental to our team as we navigate these challenges and explore and implement new solutions.”
