In an attempt to better assess that impact and the sector’s outlook for the future, Student Housing Business conducted a survey of industry professionals over the course of several weeks in May. A recent survey conducted by Core Spaces of nearly 2,500 college students throughout the U.S. has revealed insight into the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic’s impact on student’s mental state, their overall feelings towards remote learning and the financial impact of the virus — both from a personal and parental perspective. Core Spaces emailed the survey to student residents at 19 of the company’s properties across 12 cities in 11 states. Ypsilanti, Mich. — In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Eastern Michigan University has announced that the university will be offering students enrolling and living in an on-campus residence hall a ‘single room’ guarantee for the fall semester. Under this plan, a single room without a roommate will be available to every student who wants one.
