South Bend, Ind. — Toll Brothers Campus Living has broken ground on The 87, an 810-bed student housing community located near Notre Dame University in South Bend. The property will span 431,000 square feet, including 26 town homes and five apartment buildings ranging from three- to four-stories. The community’s 335 fully furnished units will will be offered in studio-, one-, two- and four-bedroom configurations with bed-to-bath parity. Shared amenities will include a two-story fitness center, collaboration and study areas, a content creation studio, coffee bar, social lounge, multi-sport simulator lounge, screening lounge, pet park, basketball court, courtyard with televisions, grills, fire pits and outdoor games. The property will also feature a three-story parking garage, private parking garages for townhomes and surface-level parking. The project team includes KTGY Architects, V3 Engineering, Mary Cook Associates and Matchbox Studio. Construction is expected for completion in 2024. Located at 1710 N. Turtle Creek Dr., the property will also serve students attending St. Mary’s College and Holy Cross College.
