Sunderland, Mass. — Construction is underway on North 116 Flats, a 150-unit multifamily community located near the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Sunderland. The community — developed by a joint venture between Fountain Residential Partners and HC2 Capital — will serve students of the university, as well as professionals in the Amherst area. Thirty-eight of the community’s units will be affordable housing. The property will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. Shared amenities will include an 8,000-square-foot clubhouse with a cardio center, yoga studio, multiple private study rooms and community spaces; dog parks; outdoor fireplaces; grilling stations; sports courts; and green space. The project was designed by Stuart Roosth Architects and is being constructed by Western Builders with completion scheduled for summer 2020.
