Skanska to Develop $311 Million Living-Learning Center at Simmons University

by Katie Sloan

Boston — Skanska has partnered with Simmons University to develop a $311 million living-learning center on the institution’s Boston campus. Upon completion, the development will offer 1,000 beds of student housing; meeting and social spaces; office support space; a 500-seat dining facility; and a fitness facility including a swimming pool, gymnasium, rowing tanks and a weight room. Work began on the project in May, with completion expected for September 2026. The living-learning community is the final phase of One Simmons, a decades-long master-planned development designed to consolidate the university’s facilities onto one campus.
