Charlotte, N.C. — Shareholders of Campus Crest Communities (NYSE:CCG) approved the merger of the company with Chicago-based Harrison Street Real Estate Capital at the company’s annual meeting on Tuesday, January 26, with 99.3 percent of shareholders voting in favor of the merger. Harrison Street announced it would acquire Campus Crest for a value of $1.9 billion in October 2015.

Orlando, Fla. — Inland Real Estate Acquisitions Inc. has acquired The Retreat at Orlando, a fully developed student housing property located near the University of Central Florida (UCF) campus in Orlando, for $72.5 million.
Chicago — Harrison Street Real Estate Capital has acquired Dwight Lofts, a 771-bed, student housing property located in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, for a reported $105 million. During the school year, the property serves as housing for students attending Columbia College Chicago, which recently executed an 11-year lease extension.
Louisville, Ky. — 908 Development Group, in a venture with Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, has begun construction on The Nine at Louisville, a 385-bed, urban infill project located adjacent to the University of Louisville.
