Statesboro, Ga. — Berkadia has arranged the sale of and financing for 111 South, a 709-bed student housing community located near Georgia Southern Unversity in Statesboro. Kevin Larimer, Greg Gonzalez and Judy MacManus of Berkadia arranged the sale on behalf the seller, a partnership between Artemis Real Estate Partners and The Preiss Co. Clemson, S.C. — The Preiss Co. has broken ground on Signature Hartwell Village, a 433-bed student housing community located near Clemson University in South Carolina. The community will be part of a larger mixed-use development, Hartwell Village, which will include two hotels alongside a retail center occupied by Marshalls, PetCo and Aldi. Miami — Colliers International has arranged the sale of a 24,451-square-foot development site near the Florida International University campus in Miami for $5.2 million. Virgilio Fernandez, Gerard Yetming, Mitash Kripalani and Julian Zuniga of Colliers represented the seller, Kendra Parker, in the disposition of the property to New York-based real estate investment firm Adam America Real Estate. The buyer purchased an adjacent site in August 2019 for $20 million. A student housing community is planned for the combined property.

St. Louis — A joint venture between GMH Capital Partners and AGC Equity Partners has acquired Everly on the Loop, a 428-bed student housing community serving students at Washington University in St. Louis. The 192,390-square-foot community offers one-, two- and three-bedroom units with bed-to-bath parity. Shared amenities include a fitness center, yoga room, game room, swimming pool and indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces. Athens, Ga. — Stratus Development Group has broken ground on The Haven of Athens, a 286-bed student housing community located one and a half miles from the University of Georgia’s main campus in Athens. The development will offer two-, three-, four-, five- and six-bedroom, cottage- and townhome-style units with bed-to-bath parity. Shared amenities will include a resort-style swimming pool, study rooms, a fitness center, dog park, hammock park, fire pit and covered parking.
